Applebee's Celebrates Veteran's Day With Thank You Movement

For six years running, Applebee's will celebrate Veteran's Day with the Thank You Movement.

The six-year tradition provides free meals to current and former service members of participating Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. T the meals offered for free include the restaurant's signature Double Crunch Shrimp, American Standard All-In Burger, Fiesta Lime Chicken, Three-Cheese Chicken Penne, Oriental Chicken Salad and Chicken Tenders Platter.

This year, they will also provide everyday household items to be given away to the veterans and active duty military men.

Steve Layt, Applebee's Presisdent, said, "We are thankful for the men and women who have served, and currently serve, to protect this great nation."

Applebee's partners with the community asking the veterans and their families, friends and neighbors to send stories to ThankYouMovement.com. The establishment will help the families of the active and former servicemen by providing them their needs for everyday use.

"We're excited to show our gratitude again this year by serving free meals to our military heroes on Veterans Day, and by partnering with our neighborhoods to help service members in ways that will improve their everyday lives," said Layt.

Thank You Movement started in 2011 and has collected messages of gratitude and appreciation to the 24 million active and former members of the Armed Forces. Those who want to participate in the movement can send their messages in the website.

Often times, the messages are personalized thank you notes. But this year, Applebee's are accepting message telling the stories of the veterans and current members. They can also tell stories of their situations and their difficulties. The company in turn will provide them of what they need as a way to say thanks to the servicemen.

Guests who want to receive the promo needs to show proof of identification and service such as "U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation."
