"Persona 5" release date has been pushed back to 2016.

The game was expected to get a release in Japan last year. Then, it was reportedly delayed later this year as Atlus USA PR manager James Hardin confirmed in an interview, Shacknews reported

"That's just completely wrong. A lot of people assume that this is correct because they published something back in what, 2008? It just isn't true. I'm working on getting those incorrect listing removed," John Hardin said.

"The only thing I can confirm for Persona 5 is 2015."

With the series of different details circulating online, Atlus finally ended all speculations about
"Persona 5" release date. The game developer's latest published trailer of "Persona 5" at TGS 2015 revealed that bothe PS4 and PS3 will be released in Summer of 2016.

Along with the lengthy trailer, "Persona" series chief director Katsura Hashino shared the progress of the game and apologize for the delay, Siliconera reported.

"Since "Persona 5" is being developed for a new console, Hashino didn't want to hold anything back and just make a short game, so instead, they're packing the game with all kinds of content, and it'll be the most voluminous title the series has yet to see as far as gameplay and play time goes," Siliconera added.

"Persona 5" will be released in North America and Japan, while Europe might get the game a little bit later than its North American release as John Hardin hinted this possibility in an interview last month, Crossmap  reported.

"We are trying to get publishers locked in for our titles in EU and will announce things when they are locked in. We don't want another Shin Megami Tensei IV or Devil Survivor Overclocked situation. We are very aware of what happens when we make premature announcements for Europe. At least I am."
