The efforts of three Valve game enthusiasts to win a portion of the one million prize during Valve's inaugural Dota 2 tournament, known as the International was made into a documentary film.

The film, dubbed "Free to Play" was evaluated in theaters for at two months before makers introduced it in August the Wired reported.

"It's tough being a gamer," Benedict Lim, one of three gamers featured in the film said in a statement.

"Changing mindsets is never easy so it's going to take a while but when the gamers now become parents we will be supportive of our kids playing and I think that's when everything will boom."

The documentary details the three gamers experience, and the passion they have. Analysts from Esports eXperts also provide insight about the gaming industry.

Gamers also tell about the problems those in the gaming industry might endure, or brace for a challenge the Wired reported.

"I don't know anybody who's made a living out of gaming so it's kind of a scary thing when you see your kid putting their whole life into gaming, not college and not the traditional things. What if nothing comes of it?" Lim's father told the Wired.

Five people play against five others at once who have the objective to establish enough force to go over a map, and demolish a building known as the ancient.

The name is derived from the game's acronym DOTA which stands for Defence of the Ancients.

The documentary is downloadable on Valve's Steam game console, on Apple's iTunes, and on YouTube.

The Steam, which Valve displayed at this week's Game Developers Conference is compatible with Valve's Linux SteamOS operating system, and is considered the company's initial big push to separate from Windows, the main system for playing computer games, on operating systems Venture Beat reported Dec. 1.

The machine has 16 gigabytes of random access memory, 12 by 12.4 by 2.9 in measurements, and a power supply of 450 watt 80 plus gold.
