A malware or what is known aptly described as 'Malicious Software', specifically aimed at users in China have been identified, according to Business Insider. Apple has confirmed that it has already blocked the apps and thus has effectively neutralized it.

This malware has been identified as 'Wire Lurker' affecting iOS devices. Apple spokesperson has advised its users to download software from trusted sites to prevent the spread of this malware.

BBC has disclosed that this malware was able to circumvent safety measures established by Apple. This malware, BBC reported, capitalized on the process being used to add apps to iPhones and iPads.

According to U.S.-based Palo Alto Networks, "Wire Lurker" surreptitiously infects Mac computers before insidiously replicating itself to iOS hard wares.

Engadget Reviews warned users to be extra-careful in using USB or other data storage devices as the malware can infect your iPhones and Mac book through it. Cyber-security firm Palo Alto Networks was the one to spot the malware and it described it as a Trojan horse OS X apps. Wire Lurker has the bad habit of infecting first iOS applications then it automatically re-produces itself through infected software.

For the past six months, Engadget has confirmed with the U.S.-based cyber-security firm that Wire Lurker has been attacking systems in the region. According to tech-report, this malware is hosted and spawned through a Chinese third-party apps store. Tech-reports reaching us have noted that some 467 apps have been infected so far. Because this malware has the propensity to auto-generate itself through infected software, Engadget reported that currently hundreds of thousands of users have been assaulted by this computer virus as it spreads like a wildfire, wrecking havoc everywhere and anywhere.

Engadget Reviews reported that Palo Alto Networks warns users to be very vigilant in using USB as it serves as the gateway through which the malware can infect your iPhones and iPads.

The cyber-security firm added, as a precautionary measure, that users should avoid connecting with unfamiliar devices or even to strange chargers. Once your Os is infected by Wire Lurker, it can cause damage to your phone book and other software.

Nevertheless, users should take comfort in knowing that Apple has already neutralized the malware.

Nonetheless, it pays-off a lot for users to stay vigilant and be extra-careful in using software and hardware devices.
