Lady Gaga news recalled how the "Born This Way" singer almost ruined her best friend's wedding after being so high on drugs.

According to Lady Gaga news reported by Contact Music,  the controversial singer realized her need to overcome substance abuse during the wedding of her best friend, Bo O'Connor.

She confessed her condition during the wedding of her friend for 20 years: ''I was going through a really hard time and I was high and I was f***ed up throughout her whole wedding.

Lady Gaga revealed: ''For the rehearsals, for the planning, for the day - and I look back on that day and I remember it, but I'm really sorry I was f***ed up at her wedding because she deserved a sober maid of honour.''

The Contact Music report also revealed that Lady Gaga credits her recovery from drugs and alcohol addiction to Elton John.

the iconic "Candle In The Wind" singer helped her recover from substance abuse since he himself went through the same thing.

''It's pretty messed up being friends with people who used to have drug and alcohol problems, like Elton," Lady Gaga said.

The 28-year-old musician added: ''He got me on the straight and narrow. He was telling me: 'Gaga, you're smoking too much'. He saved me.''

Some of Lady Gaga's frustrations about the music industry and her own career are believed to be among the reasons why she got addicted to drugs and alcohol. In a report from Entertainment Wise, the singer even called her pop days "robotic", and explained why she has shifted to jazz music.

''Since 'The Fame', 'The Fame Monster' and 'Born This Way', they've been auto-tuning it more, or changing the timbre. They take the vibrato out so you sound like a robot," Lady Gaga said in the news reported by Entertainment Wise.

The controversial musician admitted: ''They really control you especially in the beginning."
