Feb 15, 2015 11:24 PM EST | By Fred Yelland

Revealed in Fox's official list of releases that lead up to 2019 is another "Wolverine" movie, expected to arrive in 2017.

The film is too far ahead for Fox to give any updates, instead the production house is concentrating on two releases that will be released sooner: Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" which arrives this year followed by Bryan Singer's "X Men: Apocalypse" in 2016 have been all the buzz lately.

Be that as it may, "Wolverine 3" (not the official title) is still in on the calendar and is currently being worked on by Jackman and director James Mangold.

Patrick Stewart, who has been reported not making an appearance in "X men: Apocalypse," has been rumored to have a part in "Wolverine's" third solo outing. Jackman addressed Stewart's involvement in an interview with MTV while promoting his latest movie, Chappie.

"Let's just say, I'd be thrilled if he was a part of it because I think relationship is key, it's one of the keys. It was a key at the beginning and I think there's a long way to go," he said.

He also added that its still too early to say anything about "Wolverine 3" in terms of its direction. However, he did confirm that it will draw inspiration from the comic books.

"It does draw on some comic book stuff. There are some things, but in typical fashion sort of one main one with a few bits here and there and then opening it up. Jim [referring to James Mangold] and I, we've been talking about it, he has a treatment. But I mean, we're a way out from it so we're really in good shape with it. I'm really, really excited about it."

Following "Spider Man's" cross from Sony into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor was asked about the possibilities that "X Men" would be the next brand to follow.

"I like to think there's that possibility for all of it, and I would even like to think more that it doesn't happen out of necessity, y'know, when someone's run it into the ground or something. I optimistically love the idea of "What the hell, Batman versus Iron Man versus Wolverine!" he said.

"Wolverine 3" opens in theaters on Mar. 3, 2017.
