'Mission Impossible 5' Getting IMAX Release On July 31; Movie To Bear Subtitle 'Taurus'?

Paramount Pictures has confirmed that "Mission Impossible 5" will be shown in IMAX format when the film releases this year on July 31. The latest installment of the long running popular espionage series will be directed by "Jack Reacher" helmer Christopher McQuarrie and will have Tom Cruise reprising his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt. 

"IMAX is so important in giving the audience the best experience of the film we have made. I am very happy to have this partnership on the next 'Mission'," said Cruise in a quote published by The Hollywood Reporter

The plot is still unconfirmed as the actors and production have been slow with updates on the movie. However, the cast has been seen filming around a number of locations, with reports that they are all apparently adoing their own stunts. Reports came in after Cruise Ferguson has been seen filming his parts on the roof of the Vienna State Opera.

Meanwhile, rumors point out that "Mission Impossible 5" will bear the subtitle "Taurus," as production has acquired the rights to the name. However, there are no official statements yet from Paramount. 

Eleswhere, the movie's release date has been changed from its previous Dec. 25 release to Jul. 31; the movie began production last year in August.

Also reprising their roles from the last "Mission Impossible" movie "Ghost Protocol" are Jeremy Renner as William Brandt, Simon Pegg as tech wiz Benji Dunn and Ving Rhames as Hunt's long time partner, Luther Stickell. Paul Patton won't be returning for the fifth installment.

Also appearing are stars Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and "Prometheus" actor Sean Harris playing a baddie role.

The film will be written by Drew Pearch of "Iron Man" along with McQuarrie, Patrick Lussier, Laeta Kalogridis and Will Staples. Lussier and Kalogridis were collaborators on "Terminator: Genisys," coincidentally also the fifth movie in the "Terminator" series. Joe Kraemer is in charge of the film's score.
