Lady Gaga news reported how John Mayer is likely to collaborate with the "Cheek To Cheek" singer. According to Lady Gaga news reported by E!Online, the "Gravity" artist said he has "high respect" for the pop star turned jazz diva following her collaboration with music icon Tony Bennett.

John Mayer posted a series of messages on his Twitter page about the 28-year-old recording artist. He praised Lady Gaga for going with her heart and releasing a jazz album that was not expected from a commercially successful pop singer like her.

John Mayer expounded how the "Mother Monster" stood by her jazz debut amid expectations for her to release a generic pop record that would be more saleable to the masses. Lady Gaga's last pop project over a year ago, "Artpop", was had 258,000 copies sold on its first week. Her jazz debut, a collaboration album with Tony Bennett entitled "Cheek To Cheek", sold only 131,000 copies on its first week of release last September 2014.

Last February 20, John Mayer took to Twitter to praise the pop star turned jazz musician.

"I know this is going to sound like I'm trying to stir up media, but I have huge respect for Lady Gaga and I wanna tell you why," he tweeted.

"She released a record that didn't get the love she was probably hoping for, which happens to REAL artists. And she stood by it."

"There is no desperate attempt to be as  successful as before by any means necessary, no Artpop 2.0 with cynically produced hits," John Mayer pointed out.

The singer-guitartist-songwriter commended Lady Gaga's drive to go with the music that she has always wanted to do.

"I respect artists who release music they believe in and with a slow steady pulse while doing it, live or die," John Mayer said.

"So yah. fin. Carry on Gaga. I can dig it. Everyone else should, too."

Lady Gaga tweeted back to John Mayer after learning about how he praised her. The exchange sent several fans wondering if the two could do a collaboration soon.

"Just got out of a great rehearsal! That was really cool @JohnMayer So thoughtful. The respect is mutual," Lady Gaga replied.
