Will An Adam Lambert And Sam Smith Collaboration Happen Soon? Queen’s Current Frontman Can’t Stop Praising The Grammy Winner!

As two of the few openly gay singers who are making huge names for themselves in the music industry, people would assume that Adam Lambert and Sam Smith should become friends.

Hopeful fans of both singers don't have to imagine very hard for that scenario. The "American Idol" alum recently revealed that he and the British crooner are "building a little clique."

He also can't help but praise the Grammy winner for not being bothered by the label of his sexuality in producing great music.

"Sam Smith, hats off, he has had an amazing year, he's a lovely guy," Lambert, who has a Grammy nomination under his belt as well, told Attitude magazine in an interview. "I've met him a few times. I'm so happy for him, and I'm so happy his sexuality wasn't a big thorn in his side."

"It was just: 'This is who I am, I'm cool with it and so you should be too.'"

The "Trespassing" singer also couldn't help but love the songs that Smith has been putting out, calling the "timeless and beautiful" tracks relatable to everyone.

"He's doing it right, for sure," he continued. "I think with me and Sam, there's definitely an understanding there, like: 'Hey gurl, how you doing?' [laughs]."

Will this "understanding" end up with a promising collaboration between Adam Lambert and Sam Smith?

This might not be a far-fetched dream. After all, the "Leave Your Lover" crooner has been collaborating with other singers since he started his musical career. What kind of an amazing song would the two talented vocalists come up with?

Meanwhile, Lambert will be coming out with a new album, "The Original High," and has already released a snippet of his upcoming first single, "Ghost Town," on Instagram.
