Brad Pitt's 'World War Z' Sequel Plot Will No Longer Be Based On Max Brook's Novel? Story New Writer Steven Knight Hinted Details

The ending of Brad Pitt's box office success "World War Z" hinted on a sequel.

And while the progress seemed slow, the film is definitely moving forward based on the new development.

The sequel's writer Steven Knight, who's work on TV series "Peaky Binders" made him famous, had an interview with Indie Wire, where he candidly talked about the progress of Brad Pitt's "World War Z."

"I thought, 'Why not? What fun,'" he said of working on the sequel. "It's not quite like the other, we're starting with clean slate. When they've signed off we're on."

And while his statement was short, it sparked rumors that the team is going to deviate from Max Brook's novel, where the movie was based from.

While no official statement has been made about the said rumor, Screen Rant reported that Brad Pitt and the cast are getting ready for filming come October.

Steven Knight will be working with "The Impossible" director Juan Antonio Bayona, who replaced Marc Forster because of previous altercation with Brad Pitt while filming the first "World War Z" movie.

"Things got so bad that when Forster had notes on a scene for Pitt, they had to be relayed through an intermediary - and vice versa," Vulture previously reported of Forster and Pitt's feud.

Adding, "Ironically, Pitt, whose company, Plan B, is producing 'World War Z,' originally fought for Forster to be given the director's chair on World War Z."

The post apocalyptic survival-themed movie starred by Brad Pitt has no release date yet.
