Six months following Flea's announcement that Red Hot Chili Peppers is working on a new album, news has been really slow about the record's progress.

However, with a recent deleted Tweet, the animated bassist revealed that they are working with Danger Mouse as their top secret producer who has been previously described as, "unnamed producer who is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music."

Alternative Nation was able to screen capture the said Tweet.

While it's not clear why Flea had to delete the Tweet, Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer and Will Ferrell's doppelganger, Chad Smith previously said that the new album is well on its way.

"The new album is shaping up good, man," Smith assured Rolling Stone."

"We've got lots of songs, and we're working with an unnamed producer who is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music. We've done the 'guys get in the room and jam out songs, everybody playing together all at once' thing. And we wrote a bunch of songs that way. And we're now going to try another method that will be really challenging for us and will bring new, exciting results for the band. We've written and recorded in a way that we've never done before, so the record is going great. We all have high hopes that it's going to take off and we're going to do something very different and unique for the Red Hot Chili Peppers."

Furthermore, the 53-year-old drummer revealed that the band is actively working on the new album and that they're hoping to release it this year.

"We've already recorded some of the songs, just a few that we've been working on. But this is also going to be in addition to those. It's a new process. I don't know how long it's going to take. We'll have a record out next year," he told Rolling Stone last December.

Flea on the other hand, previously told Rolling Stone in an earlier interview that they are almost done with the songs to be included in the recording of their new album.

"We've been writing and rehearsing, rolling up our sleeves, getting in the studio and doing it," Flea claimed. "We're nearly finished writing. We'll go in the studio sometime in the next couple of months."
