Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is in Russia on Monday to meet with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and while he was there, he tried some native cuisine, McDonald's.

Zuckerberg will be having meetings with top officials to discuss technology discuss ways in which expand his company's footprint in the country with the most Internet users in Europe. First though, he stopped by McDonald's to get a bite to eat.

Zuckerburg took his picture (wearing a hoodie, of course) in front of St Basil's Cathedral in Red Square and made waves in the Russian blogosphere for eating at McDonald's. He seems to really love the American franchise, Mail Online pointed out that Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan also dined at a McDonald's in Rome while on their honeymoon.

Zuckerberg then shed the hoodie for a suit and tie for his meeting with Medvedev and company, posting a picture with the prime minister to his Facebook page.

Zuckerberg will be hoping to emulate McDonald's in his attempt to make Facebook a major player among Russian web users. Facebook is used by just five per cent of Russians, who tend to prefer home-grown social network VK. The country has a population of 140 million.
