Pizza Hut Introduces the 'Overstuffed Pizza', WingStreet Opens First Standalone Store

Pizza Hut has rolled out the "Overstuffed Pizza," which is essentially a pizza with another layer of crust over it.

There are two different sets of options for fillings - the Italian Meat Trio, which contains pepperoni and two kinds of sausages - and the Supremo: Italian sausage, onions, bell peppers and mushrooms.

The six-slice pies will set you back $12.99 and are available now nationwide.

Pizza Hut launched the stuffed-crust pizza in 1995, which filled the strip of extra-thick dough around the rim of a normal pizza with cheese and other fillings. Since then, other pizza chains have picked up the popular idea and have generated billions in sales over the years.

Meanwhile, Pizza Hut's co-branded WingStreet concept which features chicken wings and sauces, is about to open up its first standalone stores after being with Pizza Hut for almost 10 years.

According to the Dallas News, the first WingStreet location opened Tuesday in Denton, Texas. "It's not a field that we're entering for the first time. We have been a pretty significant player for a long time," said Doug Terfehr, a Pizza Hut spokesman.

"This is an opportunity for us to learn a lot more, focus a lot more, on what we offer in terms of our chicken option. It gives us the opportunity to interact with a customer who is choosing us solely for chicken," he added.
