‘Rocket League: Revenge Of The Battle-Cars’ DLC Release Oct 13; Halloween Unlockables To Follow

Psyonix announced "Rocket League's" upcoming paid DLC "Revenge of the Battle-Cars" is set for an Oct. 13 release. This will be followed by Halloween-themed unlockables available for a limited time.

The developer shared the news via its Twitter account last week.

Available for both the PC and PS4 versions of "Rocket League," the upcoming DLC is headlined by two new cars - Scarab and Zippy - from its predecessor, "Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-League Battle-Cars."

As Franchise Herald previously reported, "Revenge of the Battle-Cars" also brings new in-game items such as decals, paint types, rocket boosts, toppers, antennas and wheels. New trophies await PS4 players while new achievements will be available via Steam.

Apart from the paid DLC though, free stuff including two new map variants - Utopia Coliseum (Dusk) and Urban Station (Night) - are also set for release on the same day.

"These variants are the last 'regulation-style' maps you'll see for a while, by the way, as our next few arenas after that will focus on more 'unusual' layouts and settings (more on those later this year)," Psyonix said last month.

With the DLC release, Attack of the Fanboy said the developer may be introducing new things to "Rocket League" "now that players are familiar with the inner-workings of the game."

Psyonix is also helping players celebrate Halloween "Rocket League"-style with new in-game items starting Oct. 18.

"Available as post-match item drops, each Halloween item can be unlocked simply by playing matches like you normally would (Win or Lose!)," according to PlayStation Blog.

Players who pick up the items can keep them forever but the unlockables will only be available until Nov. 2. Those who miss out will have to try again next year.

The Halloween-themed in-game items will be available for free. Also, Psyonix said players won't have to get the "Revenge of the Battle-Cars" to get them. The paid DLC will go on sale on Oct. 13 for $3.99.
