"The King Fighters XIV" is now almost ready to hit consoles next year.

In a recent interview with the game's designer Yasuyuki Oda-translated by EventHubs' own MajinTenshinhan, it has been said that the game is 70 percent complete.

"Speaking of the game as a whole, I'd say we're around 70 percent complete," Oda said. "As for the balance within the game itself, that's something we're beginning to focus on right now," he said.

The ultimate fighting game demo was first revealed at Play Station Experience 2015. Fans were able to play "The King Fighters XIV" on Dec. 5 to 6.

The game boasts 3D graphics, 2D on its gameplay and three-on-three team battle game system. In addition, Party Battle mode features six players-two on each group, VG247 reported.

"The player selects their favorite three fighters from the game's character roster fighting via KOF's traditional game system."

SNK Playmore team has already confirmed that the game will feature more characters than of "King of Fighters Xlll. There will be 50 characters available at launch in which new characters hit the battle field.

The game follows the story of Orochi, Nests, and Ash story arcs. Its first chapter will feature old and new characters. The list revealed to include Kula "Ice Doll" Diamond, King, Angel, Ralf, and Billy Kane, NZ Gamer reported.

"I can't talk in details, but we've had a draft for a roster that was nearly all old characters and another one that was nearly all new characters, and we took them and also put into consideration our market which has become pretty global," Oda said in separate interview with Famitsu.

"Either way, we wanted give the roster some regional colors. Teams by countries, teams by concepts like the female fighters team."

"The King Fighters XIV" will be released in 2016 exclusive for the PlayStation 4 console. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
