Tyler's local businesses are preparing for Valentine's Day, one of the year's most significant shopping events.

This day is especially bustling for those selling flowers, sweets, and jewelry. Shoppers are on the hunt for the perfect gift to express their affection.

Tyler Shops Thrive as Valentine's Nears

In Tyler, local jewelers like Jewelev are bustling with activity as Valentine's Day, a crucial time for sales, approaches. Lourdes Esparza, the owner of Jewelev, notes the significance of this period. "Valentine's Day is a vital season for us.

We notice an increase in customers looking for something special, and we're excited to offer them our latest designs," she says.

Jewelev, a Tyler-based jewelry store, stands out with its unique collection of 925 sterling silver jewelry expertly crafted in Mexico. The store's range includes an array of pendants, charms, bracelets, chains, earrings, and natural stone sets, all with a vintage finish in sterling silver.

"Our most popular items during Valentine's season are anything with hearts or shades of red and pink," Esparza adds.

Esparza's journey into silver jewelry began with a bracelet she received in Mexico. She was fascinated by how it regained its shine and looked brand new after each cleaning. This experience sparked her interest in silver jewelry, leading her to delve deeper into this craft.

Jewelev started as an online business in 2018 with the support of Esparza's husband and family. By 2021, they expanded by opening a physical store. Esparza finds great joy in her interactions with customers.

"What makes Jewelev special is our customers. They appreciate the quality of our products, and over the years, we've built a warm, friendly relationship with them," she expresses with pride.

According to a recent survey by the National Retail Federation, about 22% of people plan to buy jewelry for their loved ones this Valentine's Day in 2024. However, flowers seem to be an even more popular choice, with 39% of respondents nationwide intending to give them as gifts.

Lou Ann Green, the owner, is an expert in creating Valentine's Day arrangements and is eager to craft special pieces for the occasion.

"We take pride in sending out unique items to loved ones," Green shares. "Our goal is to make exceptional arrangements for those needing something for Valentine's Day."

Despite the busy nature of the day, Green and her team plan well in advance to ensure every order is perfectly executed. "We bring in extra delivery staff and designers and have helpers to manage the workload. We aim to have about 15 to 20 drivers for efficient delivery, keeping everything moving swiftly," she explains.

Alongside custom orders, Flowers by Lou Ann prepares a variety of ready-made arrangements for last-minute shoppers. "We have a range of pre-made items for quick pick-up, understanding that sometimes people might forget, especially with events like Super Bowl Sunday," says Green.

Besides floral arrangements, Flowers by Lou Ann offers additional gifts, including fruit baskets, candy baskets, candles, balloons, and plush animals, making it a one-stop shop for Valentine's Day surprises.
