Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelsen, Laurence Fishburne, and Bryan Fuller were at the PaleyFest New York and there they talked about their show's return. However, this recent Hannibal Season 3 spoiler wasn't from that event. Reports say that the hit NBC series will be welcoming a new character from the Hannibal Rising novel where the show's characters were based from. Consequently, that character will be played by an equally great movie star.
According to Deadline.com, Japanese model turned actress Tao Okamoto will be coming to the show and will assume the role of Lady Murasaki. It wrote:
"Tao Okamoto (Wolverine) is set for a major guest-starring arc on NBC drama series Hannibal. Okamoto will play the dark and mysterious Lady Murasaki, who possesses an alluring and classical beauty with a dark secret. Okamoto, repped by ICM Partners and Donna, Inc., is currently shooting the feature Batman Vs Superman for Warner Bros."
Hannibal will only be the 29-year old actress' third project outside of Japan and it will be a major role just like what she had in The Wolverine and upcoming film Batman vs Superman. According to earlier Hannibal Season 3 spoiler, the show will delve into the past of Mads Mikkelsen's cannibalistic character and Lady Murasaki played a huge role in the development of Hannibal into a ruthless killer.
"We are absolutely delving into his history" Fuller told Metro. "Not as many flashbacks as much as it is finding present day survivors from that era of his life and understanding, with greater detail, about Hannibal and his modes of human interaction."
Murasaki is the widowed wife of Lecter's uncle, Count Robert Lecter. Lecter eventually had an affair with Lady Murasaki who is described as someone who is "from Japan where she has strong traditions in her samurai heritage especially one of her great ancestors." She was the one who taught Hannibal how to use a samurai and defend himself.
Previous Hannibal Season 3 spoiler revealed that Hannibal, along with Dr. Bedelia (Gillian Anderson), will start the show in Europe where they will pose as as a couple.
