Taylor Swift 1989 Gets Leaked! Premature Release To Affect Album Sales?

A few days before it hits record stores, Taylor Swift's "1989" gets leaked online.

While Taylor Swift's "1989" is scheduled to be officially released on Monday, the tracks were reportedly shared on Friday via Zippyshare.com. The video for the song "Blank Space" was also uploaded on YouTube but was removed shortly after the country-turned-pop superstar's label Big Machine Records caught wind of it.

New York magazine's online publication Vulture reports that the leak could have from her collaboration with Target, as tracks uploaded online included bonus ones exclusive to those who would purchase from the retail store.

Along with the 13 tracks Swift revealed on her Instagram post earlier this week, and the ones exclusively for her collaboration with Target, there were also "songwriting voice memos that offer a unique insight to Taylor's songwriting process and document the early creation of the songs" in the leak.

Music industry players have started to ask whether the leak would affect the sales of Taylor Swift's "1989" album. Rolling Stone contributing editor Anthony DeCurtis believes it's highly unlikely.

"Taylor Swift's fans are uncommonly loyal," DeCurtis said in a statement. "I doubt that anyone who wanted to buy the album would be dissuaded by the leak."

This isn't the first time the "Shake It Off" singer faced this kind of adversity, however: Swift's 2012 album "Red" was leaked in full as well. The premature release did not affect the sales of the record as it sold 1.23 million copies in its first week of official release.

Swifties have also taken to Twitter to condemn the act and prove their loyalty to their favorite singer. User @MaseratiSwift said "The people who listened to the 1989 leak, I'm really sorry but it's not my fault that I'm choosing to respect Taylor's album and hardwork."

User @swiftandhale pulled off a Liam Neeson in "Taken" and said, "dear person who leaked [Taylor Swift's]1989: I will look for you. I will find you. And I will leak your whole life."
