Pie Five Pizza Introduces ‘Cheddar Bacon Pie-Tato’

Pie Five Pizza packs in two classic favorites, Bacon and Cheddar in its newest creation, the "Cheddar Bacon Pie-Tato," available until Dec. 21.

Pie Five Pizza proudly introduced its trend-setter pie, the new Cheddar bacon Pie-tato, a delicious blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, smoky bacon and oven-roasted potatoes all on top of a freshly made pan crust, topped with a generous sercing of rich sour cream and chives.

"A few of us chefs got into another food fight in the kitchen a couple months ago, and before long, potatoes started flying," said one chef who wished to remain anonymous,

"Next thing you know, a spud lands on a pizza and everyone froze. Then we all looked at each other and said 'Hmm...'"

At first, it would seem odd, but even Pie Five's executives attest to the innovation, dubbing it as "amazing."

"For crying out loud, who turns a baked potato into a pizza...with sour cream and chives and the whole works?" said Christina Coy, Pie Five's vice president of marketing.

"Fortunately, our chefs did, and the only thing I can say is, don't diss it till you taste it. I wasn't so sure either, until I tried it myself. I'll be darned if they didn't create something seriously amazing!" Coy said.

Pie Five, which has 27 locations in nine states (Kansas, Florida, Maryland, Tennessee, North Carolina, Utah, Texas and Virginia) offers a wide selection of handcrafted personal pizzas and different combinations of specialty pies at an affordable price. The restaurant also serves freshly-tossed salads and delicious desserts and preps the meals in less than five minutes.

Pie Five Pizza Co. was dubbed the 2013 Hot Concepts winner by Nation's Restaurant News, Fast Casual's 2014 Top 15 "Movers & Shakers" and "10 New Restaurant Chains from Established Brands" by Forbes.com.
