Bill Cosby Sex Assault: Two Other Stand Up Shows Cancelled After More Sexual Assaults VS Bill Cosby Surfaces

Nov 27, 2014 01:58 AM EST | By Staff Reporter

Two further Bill Cosby stand-up shows have been axed as the comedian continues to face allegations of sexual assault.

Capitol Theatre in Washington State has cancelled Cosby's forthcoming appearance on 29 November as part of his US stand-up tour.

Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut also said it had indefinitely postponed a performance by the actor scheduled for 31 January.

More than a dozen women have come forward in recent weeks alleging Cosby of sexually assaulting them decades ago.

The 77-year-old has not directly addressed the accusations, but his lawyers have described them as "discredited" and "defamatory".

The tour date cancellations follow the axing of a concert due to take place in Las Vegas this week and five other dates in 2015.

NBC announced last week it had pulled plans to make a new family sitcom starring Cosby, while repeats of his Eighties sitcom The Cosby Show have been scrapped by US cable channel TV Land.

Netflix also announced it had postponed airing a Bill Cosby comedy special due to be shown on Thanksgiving.

The actor's lawyer Martin Singer said last week that the press should stop vilifying the star, and described claims made by accusers as "fantastical".

"The new, never-before-heard claims from women who have come forward in the past two weeks with unsubstantiated, fantastical stories about things they say occurred 30, 40, or even 50 years ago have escalated far past the point of absurdity," he said in a statement.
