It looks like China might be selling the Apple iPhone 5 in advance of the rest of the world, as a website called Taobao already has photos of the phone up, just as insiders had described it in comparison to the iPhone 4. The website has the phone up for pre-orders now.

The photos listed on Taobao's website have not been confirmed with Apple, however, but the specs featured on the iPhone - the white version of what may be the iPhone 5 - line perfectly with what has been said about the phone by various insiders and Apple for months now.

The sellers on the Taobao website did not confirm a release date either, as pre-orders are currently available, said a report in ValueWalk on Thursday. The launch of the iPhone can take place anytime this fall, from September until the end of the year, though speculation ran rampant in June that the release would be in September with the new iOS 6 system.

Engineering photos of the iPhone 5 were leaked online earlier this week, where the source was reportedly from China, as well, and were thought to be real as the features were similar to those announced by insiders earlier this year.

The asking price for the China Taobao website right now ranges between $160 - $1100 after conversion, and apparently the demand has been so high, said ValueWalk, that dozens of the iPhones have been sold already, even though there is no release date for it.
