The first alleged story of a copycat case for the Aurora, Colo., massacre that took place earlier this month, by suspect James Holmes, nearly took place in Maryland, but was stopped by police before anything terrible took place.

Officials in the Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties in Maryland apparently stopped what could have been another mass murdering like what took place with Holmes in Coloroda on the night of July 19, where he killed 12 people and injured dozens during a shootout at a midnight screening for "The Dark Knight Rises."

Police sources local Maryland ABC affiliate channel 7 that the suspect, whose name has not been released yet, was arrested in the area of Crofton on Thursday evening. The new suspect in question was apparently being terminated from his most current job in Prince George's County, reported ABC 7.

The Maryland suspect, according to officials in the area, said they found an "arsenal" of weaponry in his home, said ABC 7 News, when he was arrested. Apparently beforehand the suspect had threatened his former employer, as well, said the report.

More information is to follow on the story.
