Fox TV series "Empire" shows no sign of slowing down.

For the seventh straight week, "Empire" ratings rose making it the most watched regularly scheduled telecast of a broadcast network since 2010. The musical drama surpassed the record set by ABC's "Grey's Anatomy."

In a report by the Variety, the hip-hop musical drama eclipsed its previous episode to reach the 14 million mark.

"On Wednesday, 'Empire' added nearly 1 million more viewers to approach the 14-million mark while growing yet again in the key young-adult demo of adults 18-49 (up a tick to a 5.3 rating/15 share), according to Nielsen national estimates," the entertainment website wrote. "In 18-49, it bested the night's former champ, ABC's 'Modern Family,' by more than 50%."

The last "Empire" episode, titled "The Lyon's Roar" saw Jussie Smollett's Jamal finally coming out of the closet. In his performance at his father's annual White Party, the talented gay son of the CEO of the Empire Enterprises admitted to the world that he is not what most people think. He did it by changing the lyrics of the song his father composed.

While "Empire" ratings went up, the father and son relationship of Jamal and Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) might not make any improvements in the next episodes of the Fox TV series. After Jamal's confession, they will become estrange to each other again. Talking to the Hollywood Reporter, Smollett talked about the coming out of his character and its effects on his father.

"You'll see the butting of the heads, but you'll also see that with that said, there is also a certain level of "I don't give a f-" that comes from Jamal. (Laughs.)," Smollett said.

"There's an 'I don't give a f-' attitude that Lucious has had, and now we see it in Jamal, too. [And] Lucious is left with no other option; whether he agrees or disagrees with Jamal's decision, he has no other option except, man to man, to respect him as a man."

What will happen next between the two? Find out in the next "Empire" episode on March 4.
