Quiznos Sub Opens Up Fifth Store in Dominican Republic

Quiznos Sub restaurant is opening up its fifth store in the Dominican Republic as it continues its expansion into the Latin America and Caribbean market.

Quiznos now has 124 total restaurants operating in 14 countries. The Dominican Republic restaurant opened on Aug. 28 in the 1,800-seat food court of the Agora Mall in the capital city of Santo Domingo.

"We believe that we have positioned the brand as a high-quality, 'cut above', premier sandwich chain in the Dominican Republic and we are enjoying great success,," said Alberto Miyar, partner in Lobarnechea Food Investment S.A., according to QSR Web. "We are excited to expand our presence within the country."

QSR International signed a development agreement with Lobarnechea Food Investment S.A., the opening unit's franchisee, for 16 new additional Quiznos Sub restaurants to be built throughout the next several years. Lobarnechea Food Investments S.A., which currently operates five Quiznos Sub restaurants in the Dominican Republic, will open a sixth Quiznos Sub restaurant later this year in the city of Santiago.
