Candy Corn Oreo's: What's in Them and Where to Buy Them

Sep 11, 2012 10:58 PM EDT | By Staff Reporter

Kraft Foods Inc., the maker of Oreo's, is releasing a limited edition of a new Halloween snack - Candy Corn Oreos - and will be hitting grocery shelves next week.

Kraft Foods Inc. says it's introducing its famous wafer cookie in a candy corn flavor ahead of the Halloween season. The cookies will be available exclusively at Target Corp. stores and retail for $3.59 for a package.

The limited edition Candy Corn Oreos is basically two yellow cookie wafers with a cream-filled sandwich that looks and tastes like a candy corn.

Oreo is one of Kraft's biggest global snack brands. The Northfield, Ill., company adapts the black-and-white cookie for different markets - such as fruity flavors in China - and produces limited-edition versions. This year, for example, it sold Birthday Cake Oreos to celebrate the brand's 100th anniversary.

As far as how these limited edition of Candy Corn Oreos taste, there are already some reviews of them online. According to a poll posted Friday on Consumerist.com, the majority of folks don't want the orange and yellow creme cookie "coming within 100 feet" of their mouths. Gizmodo's Andrew Liszewski is not one of those people. After sizing up a photo of the bag, he called the Oreo invention the "mutant lovechild of deliciousness that will be impossible to resist."

If you want to decide for yourself, make your way to the nearest Target store for a bag.
