Wendy's, which recently ranked first as the fastest food drive-thru among its competitors by a QSR magazine survey, has rolled out a new bacon burger to its menu - the Bacon Portabella Melt cheeseburger.

According to a statement released by the company, Wendy's describes its Bacon Portabella Melt cheeseburger as being made with Wendy's 100 percent pure, North American, fresh, never frozen beef that's topped with fresh cooked, thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon, and sauteed portabella mushrooms in a creamy cheddar cheese sauce made with Old English Cheddar giving this cheeseburger a rich, intense flavor.

The burger is also topped with American cheese and made fresh to order.

"We understand that hamburger lovers crave unique flavor combinations and we constantly challenge ourselves to create new flavor combinations using the best, quality ingredients," said Bob Holtcamp, Wendy's senior vice president of marketing.

Following on the launch of Wendy's Son of Baconator, the Bacon Portabella Melt is the latest innovation in a line of Wendy's Applewood smoked bacon offerings.
