Several rumors followed the "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" lead role casting ever since JK Rowling announced Warner Brothers' plans for the trilogy last year. After casting news followed "Dr. Who" alum Matt Smith around, it looks like the studio finally found their Newt Scamander.

According to Variety, Academy Award winning actor Eddie Redmayne is officially in talks to star in the "Harry Potter" spinoff.

Insiders allegedly added that the script was already delivered to "The Theory Of Everything" star and he was reportedly "very happy" with it. JK Rowling wrote the screenplay for the highly-anticipated trilogy.

On the other hand, Warners Bros did not comment about the said casting news.

Meanwhile, should the "Jupiter Ascending" star join the "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" cast, he would portray the magizoolist Newt Scamander, author of the Hogwarts textbook of the same title.

According to the synopsis, the story will take place 70 years before Harry's time in Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry and will chronicle Newt's journeys in discovering magical creatures around the world.

According to producer David Heyman's previous interview with Collider late last month, Warner Bros. is still "early on in our casting process."

"There are some really exciting possibilities for the parts, but we're still very early on in the journey," Heyman continued.

Variety further reported that the studio is also looking for "two American girls and two American boys" to portray the four other main characters for the film.

"Yates and the studio were expected to meet next week for the two female leads but wanted to make sure Redmayne was locked up before those tests began," the report continued.

The multi-awarded actor reportedly just finished filming for "The Danish Girl" by Tom Hooper which will be released this November.

"Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them", meanwhile, is scheduled for release on Nov. 18 2016.
