Ning Zetao is just 22 and already bagging some swimming gold medals. Aside from winning girls because of his incredible good looks, he recently won a historic - and surprising - gold medal last Thursday in Russia.

For once, forget about this fit body and nice abs. Ning Zetao dominated the swimming sports when he came in first in the men's 100m freestyle during the Fina World Aquatics championships held in Russia, Shanghai List reported.

Ning Zetao's swimming performance came ahead of Cameron McEvoy of Australia who bagged the silver medal. The South China Morning Post reported Ning finished at 47.84 seconds while McEvoy finished at 0.11. Federico Grabich brought home bronze after finishing at 0.28.

Ning Zetao's swimming win came as a surprising feat after he was reportedly banned for taking a performance-enhancing drug.

"So far I don't understand what is going on, I can't describe my feelings," he said in the report upon winning his medal.

This promising Chinese swimming athlete is expected to win big in the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil. But he told South China Morning Post it is too early to think about the games.

"Just getting to the final was a big achievement, but it's too early to think about Rio," he said.

Beginning early

Franchise Herald previously featured Ning Zetao as one of the most sought-after athletes in swimming. He started swimming as early as seven years old by enrolling in a swimming school in Henan province in China.

During the Asian Games, he reportedly became the first Asian to win at 47.70, making him earn the monicker as the second fast man in 100m freestyle.

His performance in the Fina games in Russia last Thursday made him give another historic win for China.

"Stay focused and don't slow down because of regret. Smile, forgive, forget and then move on," Ning Zetao was once quoted saying.

He may not think about the 2016 Rio Olympics yet, but the world just cannot wait.
