A new album from Red Hot Chili Peppers is on the way, but fans would have to wait a little longer before they start to hear the beautiful music from the American rock band.

In his latest interview with Rolling Stone, Anthony Kiedis explained that while he and the rest of the band are excited to share their new music, he refused to perform them live on stage.

"The torture about doing this [show] is that we've been writing new music for the last year, and we've written some songs that I feel are as good as any songs we've ever written," he explained. "We're just dying to play the new songs - but we can't, because every single human has a recording device on them at all times."

In the same interview, the 53-year-old musician also shared his experience in working with music producer, Danger Mouse.

"He's very good about coming up with super-modern ideas, but he'll also touch on the acoustic guitar in the control room and strip the song down to its acoustic essentials, which is a beautiful place to be," he said.

Meanwhile, in a separate interview with Rolling Stone, Red Hot Chili Pepper's drummer, Chad Smith, shared the band's struggles in working on their new album.

"And we wrote a bunch of songs that way," the drummer revealed. "And we're now going to try another method that will be really challenging for us and will bring new, exciting results for the band. We've written and recorded in a way that we've never done before, so the record is going great. We all have high hopes that it's going to take off and we're going to do something very different and unique for the Red Hot Chili Peppers."

The band's comical bassist, Flea, on the other hand, announced his return in recording after suffering from an arm injury.

The 53-year-old bassist took to his social media page to announce his recovery.

"Well boys and girls, my busted arm has finally healed to the point where I can play bass proper again," Flea posted. "RHCP back to jamz again next week!!!"
