Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao fight is among the biggest boxing match in history. Thus, it was dubbed as "Fight of the Cetury."
Discussions leading to the bout date were chaotic. Both camps accused each other of doing things that are against the rules. One says the other is ducking while the other thinks his opponent is onto some performance-enhancing drug.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao happened anyway and the former came out triumphant. The public thinks these two are the greatest of recent generation despite the result. However, Floyd Mayweather Sr. thinks of Pacman as a less stellar boxer. He thinks the Filipino fighter did not prove anything.
" I'll look at him like a man that was chasing Floyd for years to fight, a fight that was an easy fight for Floyd. I told everybody that the fight was easy," he said in an interview with On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
"I don't care how long they waited, when the fight took place, Floyd did what he said he was gonna do and I don't think nobody was wrong in this situation for picking Floyd."
When asked if Manny Pacquiao is a boxer who had accomplishments, Floyd Sr. thinks the eight-division world champion did not do anything. He also called his trainer Freddie Roach "The Joke Coach."
"I'm gonna be honest with you, when you get to telling the truth about things, the truth is the one thing that's gonna set you free. I truly believe that pretty much all of those fights that Pacquiao was winning, he had a way he was winning, it wasn't looking that good the way he was winning fights," he said.
"He was hitting but he didn't do nothing when he hadn't done nothing. It is what it is, and Freddie 'The Joke Coach' Roach, he's still talking about how he wants Manny Pacquiao to fight Floyd again. Come on man, he needs to go sit down somewhere. Freddie Roach is the joke."
The former boxer turned trainer also thinks there will be no more Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao fight rematch.
