Emily Estefan, daughter of Gloria and Emilio Estefan, is starting her own career in music and on Tuesday, the 20-year old launched a new music video for her first single, "F*&k to Be."
In its report, ET Online said that Emily Estefan is a "miracle daughter," who came to the life of Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan after the 1990 tour bus crash that almost killed Gloria.
"From the moment she was born she was pretty much a miracle baby," Gloria Estefan told ET Online. "They told me I would never have another baby after that accident, and here I am. We wanted her very much, and she was beyond anything we could have ever hoped for."
Today, Emily Estefan is already an accomplished drummer and singer and is set to make a career of her own starting with her new single, "F*&k to Be." Gloria Estefan, herself, directed her daughter's music video; and in the same interview with ET Online, Gloria admitted that the title of her daughter's first single is a bit awkward.
"The funny part is she's never cursed in her entire life," Gloria said, to which Emily Estefan disagreed, saying, "That's not entirely true. I would invent my own curse words."
Meanwhile, when asked if she would follow her mother's footsteps, especially when it comes to fashion and music, Emily Estefan said she does not intend to mirror her mother's style and career.
"I mean, it's really hard. How am I supposed to top the Medal of Feedom and all that stuff?" Emily said. "I'm not going to follow that path. I'll just admire it and go the other way."
In an interview with Today on Monday, Emily said that following the career of her mother is a double-edged sword. She said, "But the reality is they're amazing golden footsteps to follow in so my biggest fear now is just being able to do the past justice."
Gloria Estefan, 58, is known for her phenomenal hits like "Conga," "Rhythm is Gonna Get You" and "Everlasting Love."
