Amir Khan said in a Floyd Mayweather next fight news that the reigning pound-for-pound king will win again in his upcoming rematch with Marcos Maidana on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Khan, who will be in an interested spectator in the rematch, said in an interview that Maidana's rugged style helped him pushed Mayweather to the limit in the first fight, but it is not enough to win against a fighter of Mayweather's caliber.
"Maidana made it a very rough and rugged first fight and showed Floyd no respect," Khan said in a Floyd Mayweather next fight news on Daily Star. "That was his game plan, to go in there and treat him like he was a nobody and in a way it definitely worked for him because he gave Floyd a tough fight especially in the early half of the fight."
The Briton, who is eyeing a big-money fight against Mayweather, said that the unbeaten champion is too smart because he knows how to adjust to his opponent's style, which is the reason why he thinks Maidana will lose again.
"You can't be one dimensional against Floyd because over and over in his career he has shown that he makes changes to whatever style his opponent comes with," Khan said.
And as for his own ambition, Khan said in the Floyd Mayweather next fight news that he is still confident that the Grand Rapids, Michigan native will eventually decide to give him a shot in 2015.
Khan is set to return to the ring in December against a yet-to-be-named opponent, and he is confident that a win will help him get his dream bout, saying that fans would love to see them collide on top of the ring.
"It's a fight that many want to see happen just because our styles would make a very interesting clash," Khan said. "If I keep winning then I think it's a fight that could definitely happen in the future. Floyd has said the same thing to me in the past."
