HBO has announced "The Newsroom" season 3 release date last September 9 and confirmed that fans will just have to wait two more months before the series returns on November 9 at 9 pm. Some spoilers, meanwhile, reveal that someone might be going to jail!

A lot speculation have been circling on how writer Aaron Sorkin would cap off the series, but looks like fans would just have to guess what is going to happen on "The Newsroom" season 3.

According to reports from TV Wise that dished out "The Newsroom" season 3 spoilers, the series' storyline would center on a certain whistleblower-whose identity is still unknown. Presumably, Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) and his team would probably do an investigative story which could possibly end them in a very tricky situation - with Reese (Chris Messina), the president of the network, stating that he is going to be sent to jail and resulting to McAvoy giving his resignation.

One could only speculate after the very cryptic yet intriguing promo that HBO released that gave little "The Newsroom" season 3 spoilers. Using only a copier machine, the promo teased fans and critics alike by showing bits and pieces of what seemed to be important parts of the dialogue and plot all together from Reese and Will's characters.

"The Newsroom" season 3 spoilers were dished by the showrunners, who confirmed that the series finale will just have six episodes in it.

Website Hypable commented that "We don't know much about what they have in store for us for season 3 of The Newsroom, but we do know that Sorkin is determined to end the show on a high note, despite the trouble that has brewed behind the scenes for the talented screenwriter."

There have been also worries over "The Newsroom" season 3's new timeslot, but website Cattermatt  said, "In getting this timeslot, HBO is taking a gamble that there will be enough loyal viewers to help out the other comedies. If the live ratings for "The Newsroom" are low, HBO doesn't have to freak out. It is the final season, so there's only going to be so much longer that the show is even on the air."
