NBA Free Agents 2014: Ricky Rubio Plans To Stay With Minnesota Timberwolves; Bulls, Lakers Interested in Ryan Hollins

NBA Free Agents 2014 news revealed that Ricky Rubio looks committed to playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the next several years despite the recent roster shakeup.

In an interview with Yahoo Sports, Rubio, who could become a restricted free agent this summer, said that he is leaning towards signing a contract extension with the Timberwolves.

Sources indicated that Timberwolves president and head coach Flip Saunders has been talking to Rubio's agent about the possibility of signing a contract extension before the point guard's rookie contract runs out next summer.

"I'm loyal," Rubio said in the NBA free agents 2014 news when asked about signing an extension. "I want to give them back what they gave me there: a lot of love."

Rubio is also optimistic that the team will still be competitive in the long run despite losing Kevin Love in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Spanish point guard said that he has no hard feelings with Love, saying that he knows his former teammate just wanted to win after failing to make the playoffs in his first six seasons in the league.

"I really liked playing with him, but I'll play with the players who want to be there," Rubio said. "Kevin wants to win. That's normal. He's been there six years without the playoffs. I understand. If I was in the same situation - being one of the best players in the league - and not being able to be in the playoffs, I'd have a lot of frustration, too."

Rubio, who is still trying to get his confidence back coming off an ACL injury, averaged 9.5 points to go along with 8.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game last season. His numbers are expected to go up next season as he is tipped to have a bigger role for Minnesota next season.

Meanwhile, in other NBA free agents 2014 update, Ryan Hollins is reportedly drawing interest of several teams, including the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs.

Hollins played in 61 regular-season games with the Los Angeles Clippers last season where he averaged 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.9 minutes per game.
