Tiger Woods Injury Update: Golfer Expects To Play Full 2015 Schedule; Laughs Off Rory McIlroy’s Comments

Tiger Woods injury update indicated that the former world no. 1 intends to play a full schedule next year after missing the majority of the 2014 season with a back injury.

Woods said in a recent press conference that he is on pace to make a return in December in the Hero World Challenge. And barring any setback, the golf superstar is planning to play in all big tournaments next year.

"That's all dependent on how I feel and how I'm playing when I play in the Hero World Challenge here," Woods said via CBS Sports. "I'm curious, how I'm going to be feeling, how I'm going to be playing, and if I don't have any setbacks or any pain, then I foresee a very full schedule next year."

Woods, who announced last month that he would take a break for one or two months to rest his ailing back, revealed in another Tiger Woods injury update that he has yet to hold a golf club over the past five weeks.

But in terms of strength, Woods said that he is regaining his old form, saying that he has been pushing himself harder in the gym since announcing his decision to take a rest.

"I haven't swung a golf club yet," Woods said via ESPN. "I've just been shadow swinging without a club, but I've been busting my butt in the gym pretty hard. I've got my strength back, which is nice. Now the next goal is to get my explosiveness and my fast twitch going, and that's the next phase of my training."

The 38-year-old golfer, who underwent back surgery in March, also played down the comments made by current world No. 1 Rory McIlroy, who said earlier last month that Woods and Phil Mickelson are old, and that both superstars are on the "last few holes" of their careers.

"I thought it was funny," the 14-time major champion said of McIlroy's comments in a Tiger Woods injury update. "I mean, Phil has less holes to play than I do, though. What is he, five years older than me or four? Yeah, so yeah, it's a reality, you know? We're all older."
