Currently finished shooting and undergoing post-production, Guillermo del Toro's "Crimson Peak" release date has been officially announced. Star Tom Hiddleston reveals the plot, and weeps as he reads the script.
"Crimson Peak" is an upcoming Guillermo del Toro film that is described as a horror ghost story, set during the turn of the century. Screenrant.com shares the synopsis as, "Set in Cumbria, in a crumbling mansion in a largely rural and mountainous region of northern England in the 19th century. Young author Edith Cushing (Wasikowska) discovers that her charming new husband Sir Thomas Sharpe (Hiddleston) is not who he appears to be."
Guillermo del Toro is a Mexican film director first and foremost, but has dabbled in major production as a producer and screenwriter. He is known for dark fantasy themed productions such as his work in the 2001 "The Devil's Backbone", and the horrifying "Pan's Labyrinth" in 2006. This being his passion, del Toro has however worked in other less dark genre as "Blade II" (2002), the "Hellboy" franchise, and the recent sci-fi monster film, "Pacific Rim" (2013).
Upon the "Crimson Peak" release date, audiences will encounter A-list celebrities led by Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain, Burn Gorman, and Mia Wasikowska . Del Toro, Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon are behind the screenplay.
During the recent Comic-Con, del Toro shares a teaser of "Crimson Peak," wowing and exciting audiences even more.
In an interview with Moviefone.com, Tom Hiddleston shares his thoughts on the film and what audiences will experience after "Crimson Peak" release date. He says, "Well, it's odd because that's how fear manifests in me. I don't know why. I can't explain it. Some people, the hairs on the back of their neck stand up, some people get the chills, some people get the shivers. I just involuntarily weep and my face was awash with tears with this one. I can't wait."
"Crimson Peak" release date has been set to October 16, 2015.
