ABC's fantasy drama show "Resurrection" season 2 is just around the corner! Spoilers and plotlines are revealed as a leaked promo video exposes another undead character.
Based on the book "The Returned" by Jason Mott and produced by ABC Studies and Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, "Resurrection" premiered early in March. The story focuses on a town in Missouri, where people seemingly return from death, unaged and unchanged. Beginning with the return of an 8-year-old boy named Jacob Langston, after his death in 1982 after drowning.
The cast members include previous "House M.D." doctor, Omar Epps as Agent Marty Bellamy, Frances Fisher as Lucille Langston, Matt Craven as Sheriff Fred Langston, Devin Kelly as Dr. Maggie Langston, Landon Gimenez as Jacob Langston, and Kurtwood Smith as Henry Langston. Other cast members are Mark Hildreth, Samaire Armstrong and Sam Hazeldine.
Reception of the drama series remains mixed, as critics are unsure whether there is further progression for the characters in the series. According to Rotten Tomators, "Resurrection" holds about 52% rating average from its reviewers.
While critics remain confused, there seems to be a constant fan-base for the described "gloomy" series. According to LA Time for the last episode of "Resurrection" Season 1, "Nearly 7.9 million viewers overall tuned in to see the season closer for the series. Among key 18- to 49-year-olds, for who advertisers pay a premium, the episode scored a rating of 2.0, up 5% from last week. 'Resurrection's'" first season performed 85% better in 18-49 than ABC's comparable weeks in the Sunday 9PM time slot last season."
