Handicapped Drake Memes: Canadian Rapper Says Pictures Of Him As Jimmy Brooks Taking Over Toronto 'Is Great'

The handicapped Drake memes is taking over Toronto. Somepeople are going around the Canadian city and sticking pictures of the Canadian rapper as the 'wheelchaired' Jimmy Brooks on handicapped signs. Jimmy Brooks is the character that the 'Best I Ever Had' singer played in the Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation wherein he was a PWD. The stunt, which is now known as 'Draking', was started by a Toronto-based journalist and his boyfriend.

TMZ caught up with Drake  after having dinner at a West Hollywood restaurant and directly asked about the Handicapped Drake Memes. Drake is covered with a lot of his bodyguards but TMZ somehow managed to sneak a question and Drake obliged with an answer.

TMZ: Drake, what do you think of Draking stuff going on in Toronto?

In a very short answer, the singer replied: "It's great."

He is sports about it, or maybe not.

Buzzfeed was able to track down the person who started Draking and it was journalist/blogger Lauren O'Neil and her boyfriend. In an interview with the entertainment website, O'Neil said that they did the handicapped Drake Meme to make people smile.

"My boyfriend made the stickers last Wednesday and we've been 'draking' the town ever since," she told us. "We just want to make people smile," she said.

The boyfriend, Steve Stinson, also spoke with the Star and explained how everything started.

"Together we saw a handicapped sign," he said. "We had been talking about Degrassi earlier in the day and a light bulb went on. The idea had synergy.

"By definition it's vandalism," he added, "but it's a simple label on sticker paper and it can be easily removed."

While many people are smiling and laughing on the handicapped Drake meme, the Toronto Transit Commission is not amused.

"The wheelchair symbol is an important one in ensuring all TTC customers are aware of the services available to those requiring accessible transit - vandalizing the symbol may limit one's ability to understand and, ultimately, access TTC services," TTC communications advisor Jessica Martin wrote in an email to the Star.
