Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Techland bring a survival action-adventure horror zombie video game "Dying Light". Release date, gameplay, plot and characters have been revealed online.
According to the game's official site, the upcoming zombie survival game "'Dying Light' is an action survival horror game presented in first-person perspective. The game is set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, you roam an urban environment devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help you defeat the hordes of mindless, flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. At night, hunter becomes prey as the infected grow in strength and aggression - but even more lethal are the nocturnal, inhuman predators that leave their hives to feed. You will need to make use of all your skills and any available means to survive till dawn."
Techland and Warner Bros. collaborate in this venture, with both entities excited to work together.
Techland developers originally were set to create "Dead Island 2", however development was moved to Yager - allowing Techland to focus on meeting the "Dying Light" release date. Although there are similarities, Maciej Binkowski of Techland isn't worried.
He shares with Eurogamer, ""They're out to create something different: it's Dead Island, it's a different experience," he said. "It's all very colourful and I guess kind of goofy. So I think we're pretty safe, because our game is much more mature and dark, and we're aiming at different unique features such as freedom of movement [and] the day-night cycle."
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainments' Kevin Kebodeaux shares to Gamefreaks that they are motivated to bring "Dying Light" to its release date, saying: "We are excited to partner with Techland on 'Dying Light', which is an original gaming experience for next-generation consoles. The partnership with Techland allows us to combine their successful development capabilities with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's one-of-a-kind publishing expertise to deliver on this title."
Pawe Marchewka of Techland also comments, "The next-gen technology allows us to create a truly dynamic open world that features a game-changing day-night cycle. Inventive free running mechanics also allow for nearly unrestricted exploration and weapon-crafting to further enhance the action survival experience," in the same report.
"Dying Light" release date for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One has been set on January 27, 2015.
