Chinese tech giant company Xiaomi is on a roll not just in their product release and sales, but also on appointing Executives to run their business. VP for International Operations Hugo Barra recently announced the hiring of his fellow ex-google executive Jai Mani, as the Lead Product Manager in India, as the company gears up to increase its saturation in the world's 3rd biggest smartphone market.

In his post on Facebook, Barra wrote, " One of the coolest things I could have wished for happened this past week, perfectly timed to my first "Asiaversary." He was referring to Mani joining the Xiaomi team prior to the release of the highly anticipated Mi4 and Redmi Note in India. " Jai has relocated all the way from San Francisco to Bangalore and hit the ground running on his first day co-hosting a Mi fan meet-up with his partner in crime Rohit Ghalsasi," Barra added.

During their Google years, Mani has assisted Barra with demos at last year's Google I/O Conference and several Nexus smartphone launches. Mani has been with Google for 2 1/2 years as Google Play Strategy and Analytics Associate after which he co-founded a start-up of an unnamed company according to his. LinkedIn profile.

" (Jai Mani) will be the glue between our users in India, product feedback that we receive, and the engineering team we have in Beijing as well as the engineering team that we are going to be building fairly soon in India," Barra wrote in a post on his Google+ page.

Xiaomi is set to invest heavily in India, the third largest market for smart phones, as a result to the overwhelming sales of their products in the country. That includes building a team that caters to localization needs. The company will reportedly release 100,000 units of Redmi 1S on its 6th flash sale on October 21.
