dESPN The Magazine's Henry Abbott made headlines during the last 24 hours more than any basketball stories. The new NBA season is just weeks away but things are already heating up. However, it is not between players and teams. It is between the ESPN columnist and Kobe Bryant and his fans. Yesterday, Abbott came out with an article that slams Kobe's attitude and declining athleticism. Hatton referred to the Black Mamba as the Lakers' "big rock in their front yard," quoting a player agent. Knowing Kobe, he's not the type who let some criticisms, constructive or not, get passe him.

Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters said that he talked to Kobe Bryant regarding the ESPN the Magazine story. Through her Twitter account, Winters posted what the Los Angeles Lakers star think of that story.

I had to ask Kobe Bryant about the @ESPN story...Kobe started with: "It's not the first one and won't be the last one. "

Kobe on bad/good stories: "Understand that it's a cycle and things are never as good or as bad as they seem in the moment in time."

Kobe continued: "Stay focused on the big picture and things are never as bleak as they seem at the time, so I just kind of roll with it."

While Kobe Bryant seems to be going to use ESPN The Magazine's story by Abbot as a motivation, just like the previous times, people from sports and music came out to show their support for the Black Mamba. Paul George of the Indiana Pacers took a shot at media people through his Twitter account. Now how crazy does that Kobe story sound to you ? #MediaReachingAgain

On the same social media platform, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea called the article garbage.

"henry abbott your @espn kobe article is absolute garbage and a blatant irresponsible attack. You forgot to get smush Parker for a quote too"

Kobe Bryant's former coach Phil Jackson gives Flea's comments a nod. "@flea333: henry abbott your @espn kobe article is absolute garbage and a blatant irresponsible attack. "Go get'em, Flea
