Batteries Plus Bulbs, United States' first and largest battery and light bulb franchise launched a nationwide sweepstakes to increase vehicle owners' awareness on prepping ahead for the winter.

Those who come by Batteries Plus Bulbs can avail of free battery and systems check, and also get a chance to win a free Duracell Ultra Premium Gold flooded car batteries, free battery car installations and free battery and systems testing over the lifetime of their vehicle.

Four lucky winners, one every week from Nov. 15 to Dec. 14. will get a chance to win a deal from Batteries Plus Bulbs.

"With so many people on the road this time of year, we wanted to bring attention to the importance of car care and, specifically, battery maintenance - especially with winter weather poised to affect drivers across the country," said Russ Reynolds, CEO of Batteries Plus Bulbs.

Batteries Plus Bulbs encourages vehicle owners to take care of the car's batteries to ensure optimum performance. The auto repair shop conducts a visual inspection of the battery to address common problems like poor connectors, corrosion, failed hold-downs.

The company also offers tips in order to extend the lifespan of your car battery which includes parking your car in a protected environment to protect it from harsh environments, keeping the battery connecting points and terminals clean from first, grease and corrosion, avoiding extreme vibration to lessen the risk of acid spill, and having the car serviced regularly for maintenance.
