Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Cancelled: Mama June Is Single; Says TLC Still ‘Takes Care’ Of Her Family

Nov 15, 2014 12:01 AM EST | By Staff Reporter

Her reality TV show may have been cancelled, but Mama June Shannon would still like to clear her name after she was embroiled in the scandal that linked her to a former inmate, which put an end to her and her family's TV career.

"Mama June" Shannon wants to share to the world her own side of the story. The beleaguered matriarch, whose show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" was cancelled by TLC after it was revealed that she was dating a registered sex offender convicted of abusing one of her daughters, recently sat down with Dr. Phil McGraw, Us Weekly tells.

A sneak peek of the interview, which will air Monday Nov. 17, Dr. Phil asks June why did she allow her kids, nine-year-old Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, 14-year-old Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, and 18-year-old Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon, to get near her criminal ex-boyfriend, Mark McDaniel, who her daughter Anna claimed repeatedly molested her when she was just a child.

Mama June answered that her kids got to have contact with her ex because "they don't go anywhere without me 24 hours a day."

June utterly denied having a resumed romantic affair with McDaniel.

He said he has another girlfriend now and that the recent pictures of her with McDaniel were all edited.

And despite going jobless recently, Mama June still has no qualms about that, saying TLC has "been good to me. They still are very good to me."

She also revealed that show paid her for her work.

"My kids got paid in their trust funds. Sugar Bear got paid. Everybody got paid that was owed from the show. They're still taking care of the girls today with tutoring. Which I'm very, very grateful for. They're taking care of some other things for the girls, I'm very grateful," she explained.
