David Clarke (James Tupper) has returned to the lives of mortal enemies Emily Thorne (Emily Vancamp) and Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe). After being presumed dead for three seasons, except the season 3 finale, the father of the show's protagonist and former lover of the antagonist, was not dead after all. The reports saying he died in the prison wasn't true. How he did it? It is still a mystery. In Revenge Season 4 though, things got more troublesome for Emily and Victoria with his presence.

It is no secret that Emily and Victoria are not yet done seeking justice in Revenge Season 4. However, Victoria was the one who found an advantage as she got to David Clarke before Emily. In the last episode of the current season titled Ambush, David finally learned that the neighbor Victoria wants him to hate is actually his daughter. That Victoria is lying. As the former queen of Hamptons was trying to flee from the confrontation going on between the father and daughter, she was hurt after a lightning struck a post nearby. David run after her immediately. This action of his has made fans wonder, did the revelation of Emily change anything about what David feels about Victoria?

Talking to TV Line, James Tupper addressed that question. When asked if David's opinion of Victoria is finally beginning to waver after that final moments in the seventh episode of Revenge Season 4, here is his answer:

"I think, even from the beginning of the season, that was a question. But she's also the love of his life. When he went away, he dreamed of having her back, having that life back. In a way, it's a battle between his head and his heart when it comes to his relationship with Victoria."

James Tupper also talked about that scene where David embarrassed Nolan Ross (Gabriel Mann) on live television. He reveals that some time in Revenge Season 4, the two of them will reconcile.

"When the truth comes out, that will have to be reconciled. Obviously, David loves Nolan, so you'll have to forgive him for what he did; he thought Nolan betrayed him and didn't take care of his girl."
