On November 6 of this year, it was announced that top streaming services company Netflix will release four new shows that are based on Marvel characters. These are Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. Among the four, Daredevil gets the most publicity mainly because it is a step ahead when it comes to production. Well, Jessica Jones will catching-up soon. In fact, it now has a shortlist of possible actresses that will play the lead role.

In a report by the Deadline regarding the Jessica Jones Netflix TV Series, it is revealed that Marvel has already started naming artists that they deem are capable and suitable of playing the title role.

"I hear Marvel is assembling a field of actresses invited to test for the lead of the company's straight-to-series Jessica Jones drama for Netflix," wrote Deadline's Nellie Andreeva regarding Jessica Jones Netfix TV series casting.

"I hear it includes Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer and Jessica De Gouw. All fall within the age range of 25-33 listed on the breakdowns for the role.

Both Ritter and Daddario have appeared in highly-acclaimed TV series before. Ritter is known for her role as Jane in AMC's Breaking Bad while Daddario is credited for her daring role in True Detective. Palmer, on the other hand, is credited for his works in various fantasy movies like The Sorcerer's Apprentice, I Am Number Four and Warm Bodies where she starred opposite Nicolas Hoult. As for Jessica De Gouw, she is no stranger for action roles as she starred as Helena Bertinelli/The Huntress in the CW Network's Arrow and as Mina Murray in NBC's Dracula.

Deadline wrote:

"Spearheaded by Melissa Rosenberg, the 13-episode drama - the second in a four-series Netflix-Marvel deal - centers on Jessica Jones, a superhero suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes."
