Blinbox Announces iPad App; Apple Users Can Now Download Shows and Movies For Offline Viewing; Android App Coming Soon

Wait no more Apple users. If you are tired of buffering online video and TV series streaming, Blinkbox has great news for you. The online streaming service firm announced recently the launch of its iPad app that is now available for download.

U.K. based media streamer's new iPad application will let its users to get movie and TV series and view it offline. Yes, that is without an internet video and show streaming anywhere you want. To be able to get this privilege, Blinbox Movies users just need to do some update.

"Going on holiday and want to catch up on your favourite TV shows? Trying to keep your delighted and entertained on a long car trip? If you're one of blinkbox's iPad users, these problems are now a thing of the past!" the U.K. based company said.

By updating their Blinkbox application, iPad users will then be able to get any purchased or rented movies or TV series. On the other hand, users will not be able to buy a video or a movie without data connection. Blinbox app consumers will also need to have U.K.-based internet connection to be able to download a desired content.

If in case the customer downloaded a rental movie, the user will not be able to watch and view it through different gadget. Blinkbox consumers will also have to be connected in a U.K.-based data connection "at least once every 30 days." This is to keep licenses updated.

Worry not Android device users as the Blinkbox is also coming in Android devices soon. Blinbox, launched in 2007, already confirmed its app's Android version although it will come in a later date. The U.K.-based firm step in allowing offline viewing is seen "as a response to the intensifying competition in the online streaming market."

Blinkbox, who go against Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, and the Now TV, are in partnership with more than 50 of the world's largest video and movie producers and distributors. These include HBO, BBC Worldwide, Disney, Warner Bros., Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and 21st Century Fox.
