Young couple Austin Mahone and Camila Cabello caused uproar on social media in early November when the Fifth Harmony member revealed the real score between the two of them. She confirmed what fans had been speculating for months to an interview with Andy Cohen and Mahone later confirmed the news through Twitter.

A couple of weeks later, Mahone gushed about his new girlfriend, calling her "an amazing girl" during a Teen Vogue interview. He also revealed that they have "the best time together."

However, less than a month after coming clean about their relationship, Cabello caused another online stir when she casually mentioned that they were no longer a couple.

"We're actually not together anymore," she told Kiss 96.1 during the group's promotion for their new single "Sledgehammer."

She added, "Hey, things happen... I need some mistletoe action."

Following her admission, Hollywood Life promptly published an article that mentioned an alleged source telling the gossip site that Mahone had "accused her of using [the relationship] to sell albums."

Despite Austin Mahone and Camila Cabello's recent breakup, the 18-year-old singer quickly took to Twitter to clear up the rumors against his ex-girlfriend.

"@HollywoodLife that's the most ridiculous reason I've ever heard... Nothing like that even happened at all. Idk what source u guys talking 2," the Texas native posted on Twitter.

Cabello's mother also channelled her resentment for the report through Twitter.

According to J-14, Cabello's mother, Sinu, allegedly slammed the site for its "atrocities."

The since deleted tweets talked about her having to clean up "more tears in the last three days [than] her [daughter's] whole life" because of all the hate mail that the 17-year-old received as a result of the article.

The older Cabello also revealed that she had to delete the Twitter and Instagram applications from her daughter's phone just to stop her from reading any more degrading messages from overzealous Mahomies.

Later on, the teenager assured her fans that she was already fine. She posted a positive tweet on Wednesday before announcing a break from Twitter for a few days.

"Guys guys. Nobody is the bad guy here and nobody deserves any hate," she tweeted.

She also posted a long tweet on Thanksgiving, listing down all the things that she was grateful for.
