Benedict Cumberbatch was recently confirmed to play the mystical Dr. Strange. Does this mean we'll see both Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch together in a superhero film soon?
According to Marvel, "The Imitation Game" star will be starring in an upcoming movie about Dr. Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon uses magic to cure his patients.
MTV News further stated that this will be a "meaty" role for Cumberbatch who "will knock [the role] out of the park." After all, the British heartthrob has played several highly intellectual characters before. No doubt he will turn Dr. Strange into a compelling character as well.
The "Crimson Peak" star, on the other hand, has been playing tricks on Thor and bewitching the Internet since he first became the trickster God Loki in the Norse mythology-based film.
With the recent news of his appearance for "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" as well as "Avengers: Infinity Wars," speculations have been circulating that he could be meeting Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange in the both parts of the third instalment in the Avengers series.
Seeing Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch teaming up for a new film would be a celebration for their Internet followers (and there are a lot of them). This pairing would also most likely bring in more movie-goers and in effect, more earnings for the movie.
Should Marvel stay faithful to the comics, both characters' fates will reportedly cross at one point. Wouldn't it be awesome to see their characters face each other off on screen?
If they do meet each other as Dr. Strange and Loki in future movies, it would be interesting to see them in conflict on film. They have only ever been seen being friendly toward each other in events and premieres.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston became friends when they starred together in "War Horse." They also nominated each other for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge last year.
