Reports emerged earlier this week that Modern Family's star, Sofia Vergara got engaged to boyfriend Nick Loeb during her 40th birthday celebration, but it turns out that might not be the case after all.
Loeb, 36, reportedly did pop the question but the sexy Colombian actress said no, according to an E! News report. The confusing part is that the couple broke up two months ago, but is back together again and she is wearing the ring he gave her even though she said no to marrying him.
Vergara's pal Fernando Fiore even tweeted out a shot of the actress with the ring as she holds a wine glass. It looks like quite a stunner.
Loeb took the opportunity to ask her at the Rosewood Mayakoba resort where Vergara was celebrating her birthday. Her birthday entourage was sightseeing at the Mayan archaeological ruins of Chichen Itza.
Vergara and Loeb met at a 2010 Golden Globes party. Their bond strengthened following a serious car wreck that saw Sofia nurse Nick back to health. In May, the New York Post said frequent arguments had them on the verge of a break-up.
Vergara and Loeb have reportedly had a rocky relationship in the past. Us Weekly reports that the pair split earlier this year after "fighting for a long time," but reunited just a few weeks later.
The actress previously dated Tom Cruise before he married Katie Holmes who are now in the midst of a divorce.
