Marvel's Captain Marvel is Carol Danvers--the first female-led from Marvel Studios which was announce at a special event at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood along with the full lineup of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 3, that will be available on cinemas on July 6, 2018.

Superhero fans have been waiting a long time for Marvel Studios to create a movie with a female lead. The movie has its title already and a release date but the story and casts are not yet finalize.

On the latest updates on Captain Marvel's casting, another star expresses her desire to play as Carol Danvers.

In an interview with The Fault in Our Stars actress Shailene Woodley at MTV, she expressed interest in starring in a Marvel movie, praising the way all the MCU projects are interconnected. Despite of being engaged into independent features, Woodley admitted she enjoys fantasy-like adventures that these superhero films offer.

"I would love to be the superhero, maybe, if it was marvel," Woodley said. "Marvel.. their movies are so much fun to watch."

And her expression of love for the superhero franchise earn a big question: Can Shailene Woodley play Captain Marvel?

Woodley is just 23, while Carol Danvers, in the comics is described as an officer in the United States Air Force before she obtains her powers, therefore it means that she's been in the service for quite some time. The role needs maturity, and this is one of Shailene's challenges if she will be playing as Danvers. The movie is scheduled to be released on 2018, which then the actress will be on her 25 or 26 already.

However, some younger actresses like Jennifer Lawrence proved that they can deliver maturity and wisdom onscreen, which Scarlett Johansson also did as she play for Black Widow in Iron Man 2 while she was just 24 years old. Woodley is one of the greatest actress of her generation. She can play drama and, on the other side, action, as she was cast as the leading heroine, Beatrice "Tris" Prior, in The Divergent Series.

Moreover, fans keep coming up with names of famous celebrities to star as Carol Danvers, namely, Jessica Chastain, Kathryn Winnick, Gina Carano, Jessica Biel, Ronda Rousey, Emily Blunt, Jennifer Lawrence, Margot Robbie, Yvonne Strahovski, Natalie Dormer, and Alice Eve.

On earlier reports, Chastain tweeted that she wasn't referring to Captain Marvel on her MTV interview:

Oops uh oh....I've never had talks about Captain Marvel. Was referring to a different film from over a year ago, in my recent MTV interview

While "Viking" star Kathryn Winnick also expressed her interest to play Carol in the movie. Comicbook.com reports that Winnick posted a photo of her as Captain Marvel on Instagram. Though, the website also mentioned that Winnick is also a perfect fit of being the female Thor in future movies.
